Job Summary:
Solum is looking for a Lab Technician who will help with soil sample preparation to support production activities by performing the following duties personally.
Functions and Responsibilities:
- Pipetting and transferring soil samples
- Performing soil analysis techniques including extractions, pH measurements and general lab instrumentation
- Preparing chemical reagents
- Homogenizing soil
- Scooping and weighing soil for subsequent analysis
- Strict adherence and compliance to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Moving soil samples to different locations around the facility
- Cleaning various equipment, work areas and work stations
- Assisting personnel in other areas with miscellaneous tasks
- Other duties may be assigned
Qualifications:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Able to work in the US without any restrictions
- Knowledge and experience in pipetting
- Demonstrate excellent attendance and punctuality
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Able to work in a team environment
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks
Education/Experience:
B.S. or AA degree in Chemistry or equivalent.
Physical Demands:
The employee will be required to lift up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of the job the employee is frequently exposed to dirt, dust, and soil. The noise level in the work environment is moderate and may frequently require the use of ear muffs when working with homogenizers.
